Posters - most recently I've seen a small increase in the amount of times folks are posting lyrics on our board.

Please understand, dear ones, this is something that can get you banned for good! (see http://wedg.millenniumweekend.org/fo...ead.php?t=9349 for details) I know this is a very "in your face" message but I can't overstate the importance of this. Just because a URL looks like it's a public domain site doesn't mean the songs they post are legal for us to repost out here. In some cases they may have gotten special permission to post lyrics on their site - in others they have a disclaimer that protects them. Here is an example of this:

    http://www.lyricsdomain.com/

This site apparently posts all kinds of lyrics for us to enjoy.

At the top of a song there is the following links:

[ Download Free Lyrics Software featuring (artist name) ] [ Send to a friend ]

    Sounds safe, right?

However - there is a "disclaimer" link at the bottom of the page:

    http://www.lyricsdomain.com/disclaimer.html

The lyrics on this website may only be used for private study, scholarship or research.

Most lyrics pages on LyricsDomain.com do not contain copyright notices. This does not mean that the lyrics in question are not protected by copyright law.
If you need to use any of the lyrics for any kind of activities except personal research you must first obtain permission from the copyright owner of the respective work.
LyricsDomain.com is not entitled to give you this kind of permission.

If you are the copyright owner of any lyrics available on this website and you consider people shouldn't have access to your work for free please contact us and we will quickly comply by removing the respective pages.

The safest way to proceed in this subject is to not post ANY lyrics on our site. Reference the song name and put a link to the lyrics but don't copy/paste them to our site. Far more often is the case where we could get into trouble for doing so.

    Thanks for understanding.
